Today on the 9th February 2014, the ZAPU Johannesburg Hilbrow branch embarked on a mobilisation exercises which saw scores of people responding positively to the message of ZAPU of devolution of power.
Speaking from Johannesburg after the mobilisation exercise, Mr Bongani Halimana who is the chair-person of the Hilbrow branch ecstatically narrated the proceedings of the day "It was a massive mobilisation process today, we enthusiastically engaged everyone onsight, just today we had more than 50 prospective new members for our branch"
Mr Bongani Halimana who originally hails from Gwanda North, has been on several occasions asked by the people of his constituency to represent them in parliament. One hopes that Mr Halimana will eventually accede to the people's popular demand.
Halimana will stand a very good chance of winning the seat for ZAPU not only because of his father's good name but also because of his hardwork and his firm belief in grassroots politics.
Of late the MDCs have just evaporated from the political scene, however, ZAPU has shown amazing resilience and it is the only party active on the ground right now.
The mobilisation in Hilbrow forms party of ZAPU's grand plan of resuscitating and re-activating its structures nationwide and internationally.
ZANU PF has run aground; it has no clue what to do in order to extricate the country from the economic doldrums. The only party which has a sound ideological grounding and progressive policies which can extricate the country from the verge of collapse is ZAPU.
