Woman assaulted for ending affair

A Plumtree woman was on Friday assaulted by her boyfriend for deciding to end their love affair.

The move did not go down well with Darlington Moyo (34), of Kalanga farm in Plumtree who allegedly decided to punish Sipho Sibanda for cancelling their 'love contract".

While appearing before Plumtree magistrate's court Mr Joshua Nembaware, the court heard that Moyo who could not stomach the news assaulted his girlfriend using a wooden stick resulting in the complainant sustaining a swollen face.

Moyo pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to 23 October for sentencing.
