PARENTS of two students at Mpandeni Mission in Plumtree have expressed their dismay following the expulsion of their children who were accused of communicating with evil spirits. A source close to the goings on, Sam Dube, told this publication that the two students were expelled by responsible authorities amid reports that they were allegedly communicating with the dead.
One of the victims is in form four while the other one is in form three. "We witnessed an unfortunate situation last week when two students from Mpandeni were expelled from school for allegedly communicating with the dead,"he said.
Dube said sometime last month, a student who was in form three found other students in a prayer session and she asked them what there were doing. After that it is alleged that she began speaking in tongues as she tore the Holy Bible apart leaving her schoolmates in disbelief.
At the same time, the form four student is said to have arrived on the scene and started speaking in tongues but he was not violent. The father and pastor for the church Victor Dube is alleged to have been called to pray for the duo.
"The two kids who were expelled last week are said to have caused a scene last month when they interrupted a prayer session. "The form three student is said to have torn the Bible apart as she asked them what they were doing.
"At the same time the form four students was just talking in tongues and the father of the school is said to have come to the rescue as he used his holly waters to control the two," he said
Dube said when the form three student had torn the Bible apart it is alleged that she slept on the floor and started moving like a snake. This news crew spoke to Samukeliso Ndlovu one of the parents of the student who was expelled who confirmed that her daughter had been expelled for causing a scene at the school.
"My daughter was expelled for tearing the Bible on March 7 and talking in tongues and right now she is struggling to get a place at other schools in Plumtree. "Honestly this was not fair to my child and right now I do not even know where to start as my child has to go back to school," she said.
Another parent who identified herself as Pelagia Chimutsotso said she had since moved her son to Bulawayo as he was dismissed from school for being dangerous to other children. "I had to take the decision as they decided to dismiss my child from school and we have since moved him to Bulawayo where he got a place," she said. This news crew spoke to the school head - only identified as Sister Ndebele.
She refuted the allegations saying they never expelled any students. "We never expelled anyone from our school on those grounds, anyway I am not allowed to talk to you without permission from the Ministry," she said.
