Zanu-PF leaders in Matabeleland North province have lashed out at the party's national spokesperson Rugare Gumbo for compromising the party by speaking on behalf of an alleged faction.

Addressing a Zanu-PF provincial co-ordinating committee meeting in Lupane, Obert Mpofu, who chairs the provincial congress co-ordinating committee, criticised Gumbo for opting to speak on behalf of party a faction, an issue he said is in contempt of the party procedures.

Matabeleland North Zanu-PF party leaders' condemnation of  Gumbo's utterances follow his claim that the party members who are supporting the First Lady's political rights are on a 'Tsholotsho Declaration Part Two' agenda.

They said Gumbo is no longer suitable to be the party's national spokesperson as he now appears to be representing only a section of the revolutionary party.

Meanwhile, the party has formally constituted the Matabeleland North provincial congress co-ordinating committee which will facilitate logistics of the congress.

Sub-committees have also been established and these are: the documentation and legal committee chaired by Advocate Jacob Mudenda, finance led by Sithembiso Nyoni, organisation led by Cain Mathema, information headed by Professor Jonathan Moyo.

The transport and social welfare sub-committee will be chaired by Thokhozile Mathuthu while the health sub-committee is headed by Samuel Mugande with the entertainment committee headed by Phatty Mpofu.

The party will also hold its fundraising dinner on the 8th of this month at the Elephant Hills Hotel in Victoria Falls.
