Following the much published article on water charges by ZINWA in the town of Mvurwi in mash central, some of the consumers have welcomed the move by ZINWA to reduce water charges based on estimate to reasonable amounts.
Basically, ZINWA have come to realize that the plight of consumers should be taken into consideration or be accounted for. This was seen by their move to go to door to door verification to find out the number of consumers in each house hold. Surely some water metres are in a deplorable and delapidatory sates since there were installed more than thirty years ago.
What still need to be done, is ZINWA going to validate the charges they had previously imposed to consumers or the story remains "What can be done was already done?
In this regard I mean the reduction of the previously charges they had imposed to consumes based on high estimates.
From 25 to 40 dollars monthly, we discovered that currently water charges based on estimates have been reduced to a reasonable amounts payable by consumers.
Some of Mvurwi residents confirmed the charges now are viable unlike previous charges. Following this month's water receipts the consumers celebrated the reduction of water charges based on estimates. This was seen by their hilarious sounds of celebration which filtered across all corners of the town.
High water charges were a stultifying factor in Mvurwi. Does ZINWA going to reduce the previous charges they had previously imposed to consumers or the story remains behind the story, who knows?" Surely, they say use your eyes to see the possibilities not the problems."
