Tsvangirai gives hope to Zimbabwean Diaspora as 'Ambassadors' take their posts
03 Mar 2015 at 13:10hrs | Views
The Zanu PF government has gone an extra mile in serving partisan interests to the extend of disenfranchising all Zimbabwean nationals in the diasporas.
It is not a secret that Zimbabweans across the globe have sustained the nation and the economy through remittances send to the troubled country during the hyper - inflationary period prior to the ill fatted inclusive government era.
The right to vote being in their scattered stations has been denied though enshrined in the new governance charter as a basic, now the regime has instructed all embassies and consulates not to render any diplomatic assistance to anyone without clearance from Harare.
A case in point is the three thousand plus Zimbabweans who are languishing in detention at Lindela Repatriation Centre in South Africa on immigration grounds. Despite South Africa's official narrative that there is no money to send the Zimbabwean citizens home, it is clear that the Zimbabwean authorities in South Africa are not forthcoming and have no will power to see the now skinny and visible sickly persons go back to their country of birth.
Many of those detainees have been in detention for more than six months and in this whole period of incarceration are yet to appear before a competent judicial officer nor have they seen any Zimbabwean diplomats or representatives coming to their aid.
Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai's party in South Africa , the MDC T is in the process of engaging human rights lawyers, aid organizations and the South African authorities to find a solution to the quagmire the neglected sons and daughter of Mzilikazi and Kaguvi are facing on foreign soil whilst running away from a liberator turned oppressor.
The MDC T in South Africa is urging all Zimbabweans who are having challenges with immigration matters, employment disputes or those facing humanitarian issues to contact the de facto consular officials in their regions who shall do their best to assist in the absence of non partisan diplomatic officials.

The visionary initiative is a direct response to the vacuum in the representation of Zimbabweans in South Africa. The defacto consular officials have voluntarily availed themselves to serve the people of Zimbabwe at their own expense. Assistance will be rendered to all Zimbabwean nationals regardless of gender, age, regional background, tribe, race, religion and all services and advice shall be offered for free.
