Highlanders 1-1 Harare City
BOSSO face a huge Premier Soccer League fine after fans ran riot on Sunday following the team's 1-1 draw against Harare City at Barbourfields Stadium.

The log leaders had taken the lead in the 12th minute when Mthulisi Maphosa converted from the penalty spot after Harare City had missed theirs in the third minute. Godfrey Nguwodzawo then headed home the equaliser in the 74th minute.

But seven minutes from time, substitute Beaven Chikaka scored but was adjudged to have done so from an offside position, but the fans will have nothing to with that.

Missiles rained on the pitch and the match was stopped for 10 minutes as fans, mainly from the Soweto end battled the riot police while Highlanders chairman Peter Dube called for peace. Eventually, order was restored but the scoreline did not change.

The draw sees Highlanders maintain a three point lead over second placed Shabanie Mine who drew 1-1 with Chicken Inn at Maglas on Sunday. Bosso have 25 points and Shabanie 22 while third placed FC Platinum are on 21.

It was Highlanders third draw in a row after being held by Chicken Inn (0-0 at home) and Motor Action (0-0) at Rufaro last week. They had also played a 1-1 draw against Buffaloes in Mutare.

This week, they head back to Harare to face Gunners in a mid-week fixture at Larfarge before hosting Dynamos in a re-arranged match at Barbourfields.

Shabanie scored first at Maglas through Pevington Zimunya in the 53rd minute before Thomas Chimenya drew level in the 69th minute.

Buffaloes moved into fourth place with 21 points after accounting for Quelaton 1-0 at Sakubva in Mutare, while Blue Rangers recorded their first win of the season after beating Hardbody 1-0 at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.

At the Colliery, Hwange ended their miserable run in the league with a comfortable 2-0 win over Motor Action via Malvern Longwe and Evans Rusike's injury time strike.
