TM & Pick Pay launch million dollar promotion

Meikles Limited retail arm, TM Supermarkets has launched a promotion worth over $1 million as the supermarket chain seeks to grow revenues and position in the retail sector.

The promotion dubbed, TM and Pick Pay Big Brands Bargain Bonanza will run until September 4 upon which the draw will be conducted on the 6th of the same month at the National Sports Stadium.

"This year, in addition to the big brands that we will offer at bargain prices, we will retain over 400 prizes to be won at all our branches and we have added 17 Jeep Compass vehicles and a Jeep Cherokee to be won at the grand draw in September," purchasing manager Jealous Kondo said.

He said the promotion is in partnership with various companies and is running in all TM Supermarkets countrywide.

"I would like to convey our deepest appreciation in our business partnership to all our stakeholders. We are TM because of the people around us, our partners, our suppliers, and more importantly our customers," he said.

For the grand prize, there will be a feature match between Dynamos and Caps United.

TM Supermarket is one of the leading food and grocery retail brands in Zimbabwe and currently comprises of a branch network of 53 stores country wide.

The supermarket chain also has Pick n Pay of South Africa as a shareholder with a 41 percent stake.
Kondo said some of the sponsors include Zimpapers, Innscor, Lyons, Econet, National Foods, Dairibord, Delta, Afdis, and Lobels among others.

He said for the TM grand price, one needs to spend at least $5 in any TM Supermarkets while others are attached to the sponsor's products.

Meikles Limited group chairman John Moxon recently said TM Supermarkets will open more stores in the next financial year (2015).

He noted that the increase of supermarkets from 49 in March last year to 53 had increased trading space 10 percent to 55,000m².
