South African diva Zahara will launch her new album "Country Girl" in the country on Saturday when she performs at People's Choice Awards set for Harare International Conference Centre.
The Zimbabwean launch of the album follows successful unveiling of the release in South Africa where the album reportedly sold 20 000 copies in 24 hours of its release on September 25.
The album is on demand across the region and Zahara decided to officially unveil the new project in the country on Saturday.
She will share the stage with local musicians that include Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah.
Zahara has performed at HICC on several occasions and should be happy to return because her previous shows at the venue were successful.
She has fallen in love with Harare and she says so every time she comes to the capital. It is set to be a colourful event as Zahara unveils her new baby to her local followers.
"Country Girl" has 13 tracks and is Zahara's third studio album after "Loliwe" and "Phendula".
In 2011, Zahara's debut album "Loliwe" made history by going platinum in 13 days (selling 40 000 units) and double platinum (selling 80 000 units) after 17 days. The follow-up album "Phendula" equally measured, winning best-selling album at the 20th Annual South African Music Awards. The success of the current album should inspire Zahara to stage a memorable act at the People's Choice Awards.
The awards are being organised by Divine Assignments and Star FM. The categories include Businessperson of the Year, Most Influential Person Under 40, Artist of the Year, Sportperson of the Year and Album of the Year among others.
