MUTARE - National Handling Services (NHS) and the country's airline, Air Zimbabwe have emerged as the overall winner (and winner respectively) at the Sanganai Hlanganani Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo, held in Mutare this Friday.

This prestigious award recognizes NHS's exceptional contribution to Zimbabwe's tourism industry, particularly in providing top-notch ground handling services that enhance the visitor experience.

The NHS's victory is a testament to its dedication to delivering seamless airport experiences, from aircraft marshalling and baggage services to customer care at check-in counters and boarding gates. With a strong presence at major airports in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, NHS has consistently demonstrated its ability to support the growth of Zimbabwe's tourism sector.

On the other hand, Air Zimbabwe takes the Airline Winner Title. The Air Zimbabwe has been crowned the airline winner at the expo, further solidifying its position as a key player in Zimbabwe's aviation industry.

Speaking during an interview (then) during the launch of national airline's Harare-Mutare-Harare flight route, Air Zimbabwe CEO Edmund Makona said that the move will uniquely place the country as the best tourism destination with convenience and efficiency.

"As the national airline, we have noted that there is need for launching this flight route in our quest to ensure ease of doing business within the proximity of tourists, investments and crucial engagements while prioritizing convenience and efficiency as best airline practices," Makona said then.

"Air Zimbabwe is more than an airline. We are a bridge that connects people, cultures, and opportunities. These Harare-Mutare flights are proof of our dedication to growth, our belief in Zimbabwe's tourism potential, and our determination to keep the nation flying high," Makona added then.

The airline's commitment to improving domestic connectivity and expanding its route network has made it an attractive option for tourists and business travelers alike. Notably, Air Zimbabwe recently launched daily return flights between Harare and Mutare, catering to the increased demand generated by the expo.

The Sanganai Hlanganani Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo has been instrumental in promoting Zimbabwe's tourism potential, attracting international visitors, and showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. With NHS and Air Zimbabwe leading the charge, Zimbabwe's tourism industry is poised for further growth and development.
