Children at three schools, namely Mkhosini, Balanda and Mdutshane Primary Schools in Bubi District started the second term of the year with joy and smiles, thanks to the Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT) who kindly donated some classroom furniture, clothes, winter clothing and other items to them on Thursday May 5th, 2016. The items were donated to the CNCVCT by a UK based organization, Christian African Relief Trust (CART).
Representing the Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust was the organisation's board chairperson, Mr. Siqhubumthetho Dube who has worked tirelessly to enhance his organisation's work in that area. Also present at the events was the constituency's Member of Parliament, Mr. Clifford Cameroon Sibanda who was also accompanied by his wife together with local councilor. The MP also kindly availed his vehicle to Mr. Dube to enable him access the three respective schools in order to handover the equipment.
It was a touching moment to see grannies shed tears upon seeing their grandchildren receive clothes, sweaters, bed sheets and other items. It must be noted that a high number of these children are being taken care of by their grandmothers as their parents have since passed on. This help therefore came in at the right time as the majority of these children did not have any warm clothing in this cold weather. The grannies also received fancy clothes and crotched materials.
Speaking at the event the CNCVCT board chairperson Mr. Dube said, "In the presence of the School Development Committees (SDC's) parents and teachers, everything was done transparently and through a consensus. Consequently, needy and deserving families were identified". Mr. Dube went on to assure the parents, teachers and the children present that they will not walk the tough journey alone as his organization will continue doing its best to support community projects benefitting school children in the area. At the moment the CNCVCT is currently constructing a 1x2 classroom block at Seshawe Primary School also in the same district.
The Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust is also currently working on a project in partnership with the Kamloops West Rotary Club in Canada and the Bulawayo South Rotary Club, which could see almost or more than USD100 000 being raised to purchase classroom furniture for needy schools in Bubi, Matobo and Tsholotsho Districts in an effort to create a favourable learning environment in those schools. Mr. Dube also took the opportunity to thank MP Sibanda for kindly availing his vehicle and for being a proactive person who is pro-development as this helps in ensuring that aid gets to where it is needed and much quicker. He also urged the local business people to come on board and support his organization. "At the moment, we are in dire need of a vehicle that would help us reach out our schools as we carry out our work. We do not wish to any needy school to be overlooked. The rural folks are in dire need of our support", said Mr. Dube. He also went on to thank CART the UK based charity for the support and faith they have shown his organization.
