Dubai billionaire to invest in Zimbabwe’s health sector

THE visiting Dubai billionaire and businessperson, Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk has expressed interest in investing in Zimbabwe's health sector.
With a keen interest in diagnostics and radiology, the Dubai based billionaire Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk this Friday conducted a tour of Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals laboratories where he expressed interest to partner the hospital.
"We had a good discussion with both the president and the vice president, we are looking at investing in the areas of diagnostics and the labs. We will be trying to get as many Zimbabweans to be employed as possible it's a whole chain it's just not one hospital we are looking at all the hospitals across the country. I can see Zimbabwe has a lot of very strong medical expertise so yes as much as possible we will be using them," said Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk.
Chief Director Curative Services in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Dr Maxwell Hove said they are looking forward to the partnership.
"Zimbabwe is open for business and we are collaborating with the world and in this particular case with the UAE and the Dubai based groups of investors who are coming here to see the kind of areas they might be interested in investing in and for this team they are interested in diagnostics that is department of radiology which is imaging and also laboratories especially in areas of biochemistry and covid-19 they are also looking in areas to do with tele medicine," said Dr Hove.
Mulk has already invested in the construction of the Zimbabwe Cyber City to the tune of US$500 million.
