FORMER Warriors midfielder Devon Chafa's prolonged wait to make his Premiership debut with CAPS United could end this Sunday when the Green Machine host Hwange at the National Sports Stadium.
Makepekepe will be without their in-form midfielder Abbas Amidu who is expected to leave for Germany on Friday.
Kudzanayi Nyamupfukudza and defender Ronald Pfumbidzai are suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.
However, CAPS team manager Shakespeare Chinogwenya yesterday said they have replacements and hinted they will also expedite Chafa's registration to broaden their options when the mid-season transfer window opens this Friday.
The 25-year-old midfielder joined CAPS United at the beginning of the season, but has missed the first 11 games due to a nagging ankle injury.
"The reason Devon wasn't registered in the first place was because he was carrying an injury. But now he is fully fit and has been doing well at training.
"So we are making efforts to get him registered when the window opens. It's something that has been in the pipeline and we are sending the papers to the PSL office as soon as possible.
"Depending on the decision by the coaches he could play on Sunday. Who knows, with the suspension of Nyamupfukudza and the unavailability of Amidu?
"But, remember we also have other midfielders like (Moses) Muchenje and Cabby Kamhapa," said Chinogwenya.
CAPS United will be at home for the second week in succession following last Sunday's 2-1 win over Bulawayo City at the giant venue.
They are currently second on the log standings with 24 points, two behind log leaders Highlanders.
Nyamupfukudza and Pfumbidzai will not be available for selection this week together with Ngezi Platinum Stars' Talent Chamboko and Tendai Huva of Triangle.
"It's all part of the game, if you get a certain number of yellow cards at a given time you get suspended," said Chingwenya.
"These guys have been commanding first team places of late and obviously we would want them to be there for every game.
"But if you can remember we have played some matches recently when Pfumbidzai was away on national team duty at the COSAFA championships.
"There was also a time when Kudzanayi missed some matches because of injury yet the boys still did well. I believe we have the depth. We have the players to fill in the gaps and the good thing about our team these days is that whether one player is present or not, those available can still do the job well.
"Gone are the days when we would lose sleep over the absence of one player."
Highlanders face a tough test in a Bulawayo derby against defending champions Chicken Inn at Barbourfields.
Bosso have been enjoying their game this year under Dutch coach Erol Akbay.
They face one of their former sons Rahman Gumbo who is now the head coach at Chicken Inn.
Former champions Dynamos will be on the road for a date against Bulawayo City.
DeMbare have won their last three games in succession and this has helped them rise from the bottom half of the table into the top five.
They will miss the services of rising young midfielder Brett Amidu who travels to Germany with his brother Abbas of CAPS United for trials.
Kelvin Kaindu's inconsistent How Mine and Ngezi Platinum Miners are set to warm the stage when they clash this Friday at Luveve.
