TWO armed robbers spoilt two Bulawayo lovers' night outing when they did the unimaginable! They robbed the pair of its valuables and as if that was not enough, one of them went on to insert his fingers into the woman's privates accusing her of hiding money inside.
The woman bled from injuries sustained and was rushed to hospital.
Bulawayo Gladmore Mushove heard how on December 2 at midnight, Nhlanhla Ndlovu, 36, of Old Pumula in Bulawayo, in the company of an unnamed accomplice still at large, hijacked Tinashe Chimeramombe soon after stopping his car at a traffic controlled intersection between 12th Avenue and Samuel Parirenyatwa Street.
Chimeramombe, 20, of Number 12 Willow Court, was travelling with his girlfriend and they were coming from a romantic outing.
Prosecuting, Caroline Matanga, narrated how Ndlovu, armed with an Okapi, smashed a side glass of Chimeramombe's Toyota Avenses before descending on the complainants, robbing them of a digital camera, two cellphones and $15.
Soon after that, Ndlovu went on to indecently assault the girlfriend by inserting his fingers into her private parts in "search of money."
"Ndlovu, who was in the company of an accomplice who is still at large, struck Chimeramombe's car and they managed to get hold of the ignition key. They ordered the complainants to drive to a secluded place where Ndlovu pulled out a knife and ordered the pair to surrender its belongings," said Matanga.
The court was told that the two men robbed the complainants of a digital camera, two cellphones and $15 at knifepoint.
Ndlovu then ordered the girlfriend to open her legs, saying she was hiding some money in her private parts. He allegedly inserted his fingers purportedly in search of money, the court was told.
Soon after committing the alleged offence, the two men melted into darkness leaving the two lovebirds stranded.
They sold the stolen goods to Boyed Nyoni, Nkosi Mayibongwe and Nomatter Charumbira.
Mutanga said Chimeramombe sent a WhatsApp message to his number and Mayibongwe replied using the stolen cellphone.
A report was made to the police leading to the arrest of Mayibongwe who in turn implicated Ndlovu.
All the stolen property was subsequently recovered.
Ndlovu was not asked to plead to charges of malicious damage to property, armed robbery and aggravated indecent assault.
Mushove remanded him in custody to December 27 for trial
