A BULAWAYO man - believed to be the younger brother of Gellot Ncube who ruthlessly fatally stabbed his wife Nomqhele Nkiwane before hanging himself last month - has been brutally stabbed to death.
Mfundisi Makhalima (23) was Friday morning, found dead near Hyde Park Cemetery at Pelandaba Suburb.
Police said a woman who was with him at the time of his death was later taken to a bushy area and gang raped by his assailants, while his friend has been admitted at Mpilo Hospital.
Makhalima was stabbed on the neck and chest.
His body also had bruises on the face while his stomach was swollen.
His aunt, Venita Hlabangani said he left home at about 8PM on Thursday.
"He went to Marisha beer hall after we had had our supper and from there no one seems to know what happened to him," said Hlabangani.
A police source said the woman who was dumped in the bush, later made a report, apparently unaware that Makahalima was dead.
"She said she was with Makhalima and his friend, walking from Marisha when a car pulled up and the occupants attacked her male companions before speeding off with her. The woman's story is the only lead we have at the moment," said the source.
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo confirmed the murder.
