VICE-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is due to open a beer outlet in Bulawayo on Monday worth over  more than $1 million.

The Wholesale Centre Liquor Hub is owned by Bulawayo business mogul Raj Modi and is located at No 58 Fife Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.

Modi opened the store in mid-February this year after he quit Choppies Zimbabwe.

He had been Choppies Zimbabwe managing director after selling off his entire Sai Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd business to Botswana's largest retail outlet.

According to Modi, a number of activities have been lined up for the day.

"After lunch we are going to Grey Prison and Ingutsheni Hospital, to donate foodstuff there," he said.

Mr Modi's strong social responsibility programmes through sponsorships and donations to needy causes in Bulawayo province have made him a household name in this country for his benevolent service to society.

After officially opening the Wholesale Centre Liquor Hub, VP Mnangagwa will also be the guest of honour at the Old Mutual Raj Modi T20 Children's Cricket Cup at Heath Streak Academy.
