Highlanders Football Club has unveiled their new bus at a ceremony officiated by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The coach was bought with the assistance of Zanu-PF politburo member Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube who put in $25 000 to add on to the $20 000 that the club had raised.
Bosso was initially expected to get the bus at the beginning of the year but failed to raise enough money for duty after they failed to get a tax waiver from government.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Highlanders board chairman Mgcini Nkolomi said the club is grateful to Retired Colonel Dube, a life member of the club, for his kind gesture.
Vice President Mnangagwa also applauded Retired Colonel Dube for having assisted Highlanders.
Mnangagwa, who was presented with a Highlanders number 9 jersey, said he is proud to be associated with the club.
The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Andrew Langa said football teams in the premier league are being affected by high levies by ZIFA, SRC, PSL, the ZRP and local authorities.
The handover of the bus was preceded by a friendly match between Highlanders legends and former FC Platinum players.
The legends lost 2-0 to FC Platinum in an entertaining match that saw the first half being officiated by Bosso CEO Ndumiso Gumede much to the amusement of fans.
Gumede was substituted after the first half.
