Hikwa to be cremated?

The late National University of Science and Technology's (Nust) former dean of the Communication and Information Science faculty, Lawton Hikwa is set to be cremated, Bulawayo24.com has learnt.
Hikwa (50) died at Mater Dei Hospital in the early hours of Sunday after a short illness.
The cremation announcement was made on Sunday evening during a church service.
"He would be cremated possible on Thursday. An announcement was made yesterday evening" said a mourner who attended the service.
No official comment could be obtained form his family.
Hikwa was born and baptized into a Christian (London Missionary Society, now the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa) family of six children, three brothers and three sisters. His father occasionally preached in church and his mother was a Sunday school teacher. Most of his primary schooling was in schools run by UCCSA missionaries. He attended an Anglican run secondary school, where he then joined the Anglican Church to which he belonged.
Hikwa was serving as a sub-deacon (lay ministry) is the Anglican Church, in addition to editing a monthly parish newsletter. He also served as church warden before and sat on the Diocesan Standing Committee. Hikwa identify himself with the word Pastor because he was involved in leading fellow Christians in spiritual healing and reconciliation.
Hikwa joined Nust as a part-time lecturer in 1994 before he was engaged as a full-time lecturer in 2000.
Before joining the university, the late Hikwa worked at institutions such as Harare and Bulawayo Polytechnics, the Rural Libraries and Resources Development Programme and the National Library and Documentation Service where he served in various capacities such as lecturer, training and publications officer as well as senior librarian and cataloguer.
He was also a commissioner in the Zimbabwe Media Commission and several other boards internal and external to Nust.
Hikwa is survived by wife Didekile and three daughters, Michelle, Vanessa and Melanie.. Mourners are gathered at Number 6, Ivegill Road in Morningside.
