PROPHETIC Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Prophet Walter Magaya on Friday night finally broke his silence on his perceived rivalry with fellow televangelist and United Family International Church (Ufic) founder Emmanuel Makandiwa saying it was the work of their enemies who were apparently creating the turf for the "Holy war".
Speaking to journalists during his prayer meeting dubbed "Night of Turnaround 4" which was held at his Waterfalls church in Harare; Prophet Magaya repeatedly said he has nothing against Prophet Makandiwa adding that the "silent war" was the work of their enemies who want them to fight.
He said he treats Prophet Makandiwa as his brother and he has made it public that he has nothing against him.
The supposed feud however, went a gear up after Prophet Makandiwa was pipped for the top spot by Prophet Magaya, who came out tops, on 100 influential Zimbabweans in 2015, a list which was compiled by a United Kingdom website — www.mafaro.co.uk.
Ufic spokesperson Prime Kufakunesu then said their church did not recognise the list, and accused an unknown rival church for putting an advert in the press purportedly congratulating Prophet Makandiwa.
"Unfortunately when the story of the alleged rivalry was published I was not around, I was in Nigeria. I came back on Tuesday and when I came back that is when I heard about the story. I solely believe that our enemies are taking advantage of the lack of communication between me and the other prophets. So I think it is the plan of those enemies that we fight but I didn't see any fight happening because I am not part of the fight. I strongly believe that our enemies wanted to convince the two of us that we are fighting," he said.
Meanwhile, the prayer meeting which was punctuated by many healings and spiritual deliverance attracted thousands of people from Zimbabwe and across its borders.
It was also attended by a number of legislators from the country's political divide.
The emotional moment of the night was when Prophet Magaya broke down in tears soon after receiving a phone call from his spiritual father TB Joshua who was congratulating him on the growth of his ministry before he also sent him a birthday congratulatory message. The day of the prayer meeting coincided with Prophet Magaya's birthday.
Prophet Magaya said he has remained standing and was able to grow his church due to constant prayers from his spiritual father, TB Joshua.
Minister of Media, Information and Broadcasting Services, Christopher Mushohwe and Minister of Information Communication, Postal and Courier Services Supa Mandiwanzira were among the high profile politicians who attended the prayer meeting.
