The African Innovation Foundation (AIF) said it welcomes Dr. Nkosana Moyo who joins the team as an ALL Envoy, representing Anglophone Africa. This appointment is timely for the Foundation and its work in supporting national and regional law and governance agendas in Africa: "We are delighted to have Dr. Moyo as an Envoy to ALL, and are confident that this new collaboration will strengthen the platform's mandate, playing an integral role in regional integration across the continent", said Mr Walter Fust, AIF Chairman of the Board.
Dr. Moyo is an influential mind in Africa with a wealth of skills and experience in economic, trade and development, key attributes to help strengthen accountability and democracy, promote good governance, as well as lend transparency for the continent's growth and development. "Law is a cement to human interactions at national and transnational level. ALL is an important tool in that it focuses on accessibility to legal knowledge for the ordinary people. Through this Pan-African initiative, AIF is playing a catalytic role in bringing African countries together as a force to create cohesion for sustainable economic growth," he said.
Dr. Moyo is currently Executive Chair of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) which he established. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the African Development Bank (AfDB). Dr Moyo also served at Actis Capital LLP as Managing Partner for the Africa Business and represented the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) as an Associate Director. In Zimbabwe, his country of origin, Dr. Moyo served as Minister of Industry and International Trade.
ALL Envoys will support the Foundation in further catalysing programme activities as champions in resource mobilization, and strategic networking with key players and institutions in Africa and beyond.
