White man in court for Mugabe insult

A Bulawayo man has been charged with assault and undermining the authority of the President after he beat a woman and insulted her.
David McNeill (54), of Number 3A Mayhem Close in Burnside, insulted Ms Ardonius Virginials Richards (44), of Flat O Ross Camp saying she was a niece of an old man, referring to President Mugabe.
Ms Richards is a policewoman and are both members of the Legion Club.
On 9 October while at the Legion Club at the corner of Main Street and 6th Avenue, McNeill confronted Ms Richards accusing her of calling him a racist.
The court heard that an altercation arose resulting in McNeill shouting at the complainant while pushing and hitting her against the wall.
He also allegedly spat on her face and insulted her saying, "M*********ko, you bustard kaffir, slat, b****, stupid like your uncle Mugabe who is old."
McNeill was not formally charged when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Tawanda Muchemwa.
He was remanded out of custody to 28 October on US$150 bail.
