Zaka pupil, teacher killed by lightning

ZAKA - A teacher and her form 2 pupil at Redza Secondary School under Chief Ndanga in Zaka were struck and killed by lightning on Thursday last week while carrying out some duties at the school.
Masvingo Mirror reported that Acting Provincial Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident.
Theresa Mukaka (45), a teacher at Redza Secondary was sitting on a bench under a tree when she called a pupil to collect a receipt from her. Lightning struck as the two were handing each other the receipt and they were both hit and collapsed on the spot.
Mukaka who comes from Mufuka Village under Chief Ndanga and Charles Mazonyanya (14) were pronounced dead on arrival at Ndanga Hospital.
The case was reported to Zaka Police Station.
Their Post mortem was waived by Zaka magistrate Dorothy Mwanyisa.
Mukaka was buried at Mufuka Village on March 19 and Mazonyanya was buried at Tatira Village
