Dad thrashes daughter for stopping him from rubbing her privates

A 39-YEAR-OLD man rubbed lotion on his daughter's private parts as a way of curing her of fits.
The Gwabalanda suburb man's antics have been going on for the past two months until they were brought to a grinding halt on Monday.
It is reported that in August, the daughter (name withheld) aged 18 went to stay with her father after her mother whom she had been staying with went to South Africa.
A few days after her arrival she was told by her father that she had fits which were to be cured via the 'traditional way.'
The man then advised his daughter that the operation which would last for two months was to be undertaken under the cover of darkness.
This was because he did not want his new wife who happens to be the girl's step-mother to know of their plans. Likewise the girl agreed.
The man is said to have during the course of the "cleansing ceremony" sneaked from his wife's sheets and headed to the girl's bedroom where he allegedly applied some lotion on her privates. This went on unabated and only came to light on Monday when the man beat up the girl for "ignoring him".
Fearing for her life, the girl took to her heels and went to an aunt in Mpopoma suburb. She revealed that her father had thrashed her after she stopped him from rubbing her privates.
The aunt accompanied her to the police where a report was made. The man was arrested and appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing five counts of indecent assault and another of physical abuse.
The girl told the court that she would wake up in the night and see her father leaving her bedroom. "Every time I would see him leaving the room with my pants having been removed. There was also some white stuff on my private parts," she said. The man was remanded out of custody to 7 November.
