Mugabe will survive his own annus horribilis

A political commentator Pedzisai Ruhanya has said President Robert Mugabe will survive his own annus horribilis in 2017 until 2018.4 hrs ·
"President Mugabe will survive his own annus horribilis (a year of disaster or misfortune) in 2017 and with 18 months until the elections in 2018, the shorter time-frame makes it much more possible for him to hobble to the finishing line," he said.
"So those who prophecy succession or political change through death may need to re-think. Unless there are tectonic shifts in opposition politics and their tomfoolery kindergarten behaviour, with or without President Mugabe, Zanu PF may be in charge after 2018."
Nyasha Sengayi said he thinks 18 months is long time sufficient to bring in a political shift which can either mean him further holding on to power or leaving through death or other means.
"Revolutions are triggered by sporadic events. That boy burnt himself in Tunisia and that was the birth of Arab spring. 2017 has to bring in something; an event of some sort. Let's see how the bigger denomination of bond notes will fare," he said.
