A WOMAN from Cowdray Park heaved a huge sigh of relief when she finally got rid of her son aged 30 who was forcing her to pay rentals and buy food for him.
Ottilia Murombedzi finally has peace in her life as her troubling son Selby Mapungwana is now out of her life and has been banned from coming to her home.
Murombedzi's life has been hell on earth as her son who is an ex-soldier demanded money from her threatening to kill someone from the house if she failed to deliver.
Acting out of fear, the woman was forced to financially support her son ever since he was dismissed from Zimbabwe National Army on disciplinary issues.
"I have not had peace in my life for a long time because of Selby. He was dismissed from the army because of his bad behaviour.
"After losing his job, he was staying with me, but would get drunk and start insulting and threatening to kill someone in the house.
"I reported the matter to the residents' association and they are the ones who helped me chase him out of the house," she said.
However, after Mapungwana had moved out of the house he was still a problem as he demanded money for rentals from his mother.
"I had to pay for his rentals as he demanded money from me. He wanted to be given money and forcibly took food from my house.
"I was advised by some people to seek a protection order as he was in the habit of insulting and threatening to kill me," said Murombedzi.
A default judgement was granted in favour of the applicant by Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube.
