ZINARA rolls out 100% penalty waiver

The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has introduced a 100% waiver on penalties for overdue vehicle licensing fees, in a limited-time campaign running alongside the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2026.

The promotion, which began on April 20 and runs until May 2, allows motorists with outstanding licence fees to settle their obligations without paying accumulated penalties. The initiative is aimed at improving compliance levels while easing the financial burden on vehicle owners.

According to ZINARA, the waiver applies to payments made at its licensing offices, through authorised agents nationwide, as well as at selected tollgates. However, tollgates along the Mutare - Plumtree Highway are excluded from the campaign.

The programme is being rolled out under the theme "Be One in a Million," and is aligned with activities surrounding ZITF 2026, which officially opened in Bulawayo on Monday.

Authorities say the initiative is expected to boost compliance rates and improve revenue collection as many motorists take advantage of the limited window to regularise their vehicle licensing status.

Motorists have been urged to act within the stipulated period to benefit from the penalty waiver before the campaign closes on May 2.
