Former Chronicle Editor Mduduzi Mathuthu has challenged the anti-apartheid activist, British Labour MP and author Lord Peter Hain on Twitter following his statement saying that the killings in Harare where echoes of Mugabe terror and cast an awful shadow over elections.
Peter Hain wrote: "Terrible killings of Harare protesters echoes of Mugabe terror and casting awful shadow over elections observers and opposition stated peaceful @PiersPigou @burke_jason"
Mathuthu responded by saying that the current leaders were the ones who used to direct the terror under the Mugabe regime.
He wrote: "No Peter. The terror under Mugabe was directed by today's rulers and their military friends. It's a continuation, not a relapse"
