Chitungwiza Mayor arrested

Chitungwiza Deputy Mayor Jabulani Mtunzi was arrested on Sunday night by suspected members of the military Intelligence and the Law and Order officers.
Human Rights Lawyer and MDC official Job Sikhala said Mtunzi is being accused of inciting violence.
"I have finally found where our Chitungwiza Deputy Mayor is detained. He is detained at Makoni Police Station." Revealed Sikhala. "He was arrested by the military intelligence and officers from Law and Order. He is facing charges of inciting violence."
Deputy Mayor Jabulani Mtunzi was taken last night by unidentified men driving in 5 cars on Sunday night.
Mtunzi joins the list of MDC officials who are being arrested by the state in a crackdown of protestors who participated on the January 14 violent protests.
The state has so far arrested MDC MPs and officials, #ThisFlag leader Evan Mawarire, ZCTU leadership and charged them with inciting violence and plotting to subvert a constitutional elected government.
Soldiers and members of the police have been engaged in a spirited crackdown since January 15. 5The operation has left 12 people dead, hundreds hospitalised while thousands are in prisons.
On Saturday President Mnangagwa sent a communication to SADC Heads of State briefing them about the situation in the country.
The communiqué was sent through his envoy Patrick Chinamasa.
