A deepening sense of fear and uncertainty hangs over Bulawayo following the unexplained disappearance of a 25-year-old woman who vanished from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in September and has not been seen since.
Police have issued a renewed appeal for information on the whereabouts of Nicole Paidamoyo Mutasa, who was last spotted on 23 September 2025. Mutasa, described as heavy-built and dark-complexioned, was reportedly seen at the institution wearing a blue skinny jean, a brown crop top, pink and brown sneakers and a black headband.
She is further described as having brown eyes, a box-braided hairstyle and standing approximately 1.72 metres tall.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said officers are intensifying their efforts to trace the missing woman and are urging the public to assist.
"Police in Bulawayo are appealing for information that may assist in the location of a missing person," she said, calling on anyone with relevant details to come forward without delay.
Mutasa's disappearance has left the community anxious, with family, friends and fellow students desperate for answers. Authorities are urging residents, especially those around NUST and surrounding suburbs, to remain vigilant and report any potential sightings.
Anyone with information is advised to contact ZRP Khumalo on 0292 60633.
