Zanu-PF national spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa has declared President Emmerson Mnangagwa's leadership unchallenged, saying the ruling party is ending the year "more united, disciplined and electorally dominant."

Speaking at what he described as Zanu-PF's final press conference of the year at the party's headquarters, Mutsvangwa said President Mnangagwa had successfully guided the party through what many had predicted would be a "watershed year" for Zimbabwe.

"We have crossed this year, which many felt would be a watershed year for Zimbabwe. He has shepherded the Zimbabwean revolution with acumen, and we have crossed the year with very united leadership. His authority in the party is unchallenged," Mutsvangwa said.

He cited resolutions adopted at the party's recent Manicaland provincial conference as clear evidence of President Mnangagwa's firm grip on Zanu-PF.

"There was not even a challenge in the corridors of the deliberations. It was a unanimous decision," he said. "This is the ultimate acumen of leadership being demonstrated by President E.D. Mnangagwa, the First Secretary of Zanu-PF."

Mutsvangwa also pointed to a series of high-level party meetings held in recent weeks — including sessions of the Politburo, Central Committee and the Consultative Assembly — as further proof of unity and discipline within the ruling party.

"In all those meetings, the authority of the President was evident. Everybody is dancing according to the codes of the leadership of the party, in this orchestra of harmony which is Zanu-PF," he said.

He added that the party remained firmly on course as a long-standing liberation movement.

"For those who entertained ideas about where Zanu-PF would go, we are living up to the billing of a 60-year-old revolutionary party shaping the destiny of the people of Zimbabwe," Mutsvangwa said.

Zanu-PF has maintained that internal cohesion and disciplined leadership will continue to underpin its political dominance as it prepares for future electoral contests.
