University student in love triangle counter-sues

THE Midlands State University student who was sued recently for allegedly having an affair with a married lecturer has hit back by demanding US$10 000 in damages from the man's wife.
Miss Heather Mangosho, a level 2:1 Developmental Studies student recently received court summons from Mrs Judith Vonai Makaye who was demanding US$5 000 in adultery claims.
Mrs Makaye is wife to Mr Peter Makaye, a Developmental Studies lecturer at MSU.
Mrs Makaye is claiming that Miss Mangosho is having an affair with her husband, claims which have since been described as "malicious" by Miss Mangosho. According to documents availed to this paper, Miss Mangosho has since engaged Gundu and Dube Legal Practitioners and lodged a counter claim in which she is now demanding US$10 000 from Mrs Mayake for making malicious and defamatory allegations.
Interestingly, Gundu and Dube Legal Law firm are also representing Mr Makaye in another case in which he is facing criminal charges of assaulting his wife.
The assault is alleged to have occurred when Mrs Makaye reportedly caught Miss Mangosho in Mr Makaye's bedroom.
In her claim documents, Miss Mangosho is demanding US$10 000 against Mrs Makaye for damages suffered owing to the "malicious" allegations made by the defendant that she was having an affair with Mr Makaye.
"Plaintiff (Miss Mangosho)'s claim against the Defendant (Mrs Makaye) is in the sum of US$10 000 being damages suffered by the Plaintiff for defamation arising from false, malicious and defamatory claims made against the Plaintiff by the Defendant.
The defamatory claims by the Defendant were also published in the Chronicle newspaper of Tuesday 14, May 2013," read part of the claim by Miss Mangosho.
According to the documents dated May 14, 2013, Mrs Makaye is supposed to respond to the claim within seven days. Mrs Makaye confirmed having received the claims by Miss Mangosho.
She said she was going to defend the claim accusing her husband of sympathising with Miss Mangosho.
