Zimbabwe Independent news editor and veteran journalist Faith Zaba was last night almost hijacked by unknown men in front of her home in Harare.
Zaba said the carjackers pounced on her as she stopped at her gate on her way from work.
"I was almost carjacked at my gate last night coming from work. As I turned into my road, I suddenly saw a car behind me," Zaba said.
"When I parked waiting for my son to open the gate, the car went past and made a u-turn three houses away and blocked me from behind. A menacing looking guy got out and came to the driver's side window and started banging on it and shouting at me."
Zaba said she remained calm in the safety of her vehicle and just looked at the criminal.
"He only ran back to his car after the guard switched his torch on and started walking towards my car. The silver Fitz didn't have number plates. I am still shaken," Zaba said.
Zimbabwe Independent is a weekly newspaper under the Trevor Ncube owned Alpha Media Holdings group.
The group has under its wings publications like News Day, Southern Eye and The Standard.
