The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) led by Morgan Tsvangirai continues its nomination process ahead of the party's elective congress next month with Masvingo expected Saturday to choose its candidates.
Party organizing secretary Nelson Chamisa says the process has so far run smoothly in Chitungwiza and Harare provinces where MDC-T members decided to retain the top leadership.
The top four nominated by the two provinces are Tsvangirai, and his deputy, Thokozani Khuphe; chairman Lovemore Moyo, and his deputy, Morgen Komichi.
The provinces also nominated Chamisa to the post of secretary general with Paurina Mpariwa-Gwanyanya as his deputy. Douglas Mwonzora, who was nominated to the same post in an earlier disputed party process, was this time retained to his current position of national MDC-T spokesman with Thabitha Khumalo as his deputy.
Amos Chibaya was nominated for the post of organising secretary with current deputy organizing secretary, Abednico Bhebhe, as his deputy.
Chamisa says the nomination process will end within the few weeks.
At least 8,000 delegates are expected to attend the party's elective congress at the National Sports Center in Harare.
