Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs, Emmerson Mnangagwa has implored party supporters to stop using divisive slogans and embrace mottos that promote unity and peace.
Speaking on the sidelines of a provincial coordinating committee meeting at the party's convention centre in Gweru, Mnangagwa said Zanu-PF cadres should refrain from using insulting and divisive slogans in the party as they are counter revolutionary.
The comments come a few days after the Zanu-PF Politburo banned all divisive slogans such as 'Pasi ne Gamatox' and 'Pasi neZvipfukuto,' among others.
On the current perceived discord within the party, Mnangagwa said it is healthy for any political party to have people opposing and expressing divergent views but said the disagreement must be constructive and help propel the revolution forward.
While the media has portrayed him as a sworn enemy to the Vice President, Dr Joice Mujuru, Mnangagwa said such perception is untrue as he and the Vice President are comrades who have worked together and continue to do so very well.
Meanwhile, Mnanangwa, who is overseeing the processes leading to the party's 6th congress in the Midlands Province said their PCC meeting was aimed at organising and giving guidelines of the congress as well as putting together structures.
Besides areas in the constitution that they want amended, Mnanangagwa also emphasised that the province should ensure only authentic delegates attend the congress.
