'Dating Pokello is costly'

FORMER Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality series lovebirds Pokello Nare and Elikem Kumordzie appear to have patched up their differences and re-ignited their romance after a nasty public fight on social media networking sites.
Popularly known as Polikem, the lovebirds who are working on a reality show were recently profiled on Ghana's The Late Nite Celebrity Show on e.TV where they talked about love, life and what makes them tick.
Answering a question on some of the sacrifices he is making to stay close to Pokello, Elikem said he was going all out to ensure the two spend time together, considering he is based in Ghana and Pokello in Zimbabwe.
"A plane ticket to Zimbabwe is about $1,500 and I was there a couple of weeks ago and Pokello is here now.
"What at all, if not for love are we spending that much to be together," questioned Elikem confirming that the two were still happily together.
"Today, we went to eat at Movenpick (Ghana) and after seeing the price which was GHC 85 ($24), I wanted to eat all the food because on a normal day I'll eat my mother's Jollof at home.
"So I told her to finish the food because the amount we're paying for the food is not cheap. After making all these expenses and you still think we're playing. It's real."
In November last year - a few months after Elikem had proposed to Pokello at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, their thousands of followers on Instagram and Twitter were treated to free drama after they taunted each other on the social networking sites.
The background to the fight was Elikem admitting on his Twitter account that he had an affair with footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey's ex-wife, Gloria.
"I had an affair with Gloria Lamptey for four years before Big Brother. I tried to start a new life with Pokello but it seems my past won't allow.
"Pokello broke up with me three months ago because Gloria was harassing her. I fought to get her back and now it seems I can't win"
"The truth must come out once and for all. Yes I was young and had an affair with a married woman for four years. I denied media reports about it"
"When Pokello is mad, no one gets through to her. Yes Gloria has made her life hell but the way she reacts is just wrong. I'm not perfect"
"To my fans, I apologise. I've tried to clear this situation ensuring Pokello I want her but she keeps getting calls and texts so we keep fighting," Elikem was quoted saying at the time.
Some reports claimed Pokello was behind the posts because Elikem had given her false promises of marrying her.
