A Tsholotsho man is on the run from police after he allegedly undressed his wife, tying her to a tree and flogging her with an electric cable for allegedly having an extra marital affair.
Stephen Sibanda allegedly told his wife Betina Tshuma (21) he would not stop beating her until she confessed her infidelity.
Sibanda left his wife a bloody mess in the vicious whipping that he administered on his wife in the middle of the night at a bushy area in Jahe village on 8 February.
Tshuma ended up screaming she had cheated before falling unconscious.
Tsholotsho magistrate Abednego Ndebele has issued a warrant for Sibanda's arrest after he failed to appear in court on Friday to face domestic violence charges.
The prosecutor Sikhumbuzo Ndebele said on 8 February at midnight, Tshuma left her husband at home, going to church.
Sibanda reportedly arrived at about 10 pm and ordered Tshuma to follow him to an unknown destination.
Ndebele said when the two were in the bush, Sibanda grabbed his wife and undressed her before tying her to a tree with his belt and beating her mercilessly and accusing her of being unfaithful to him.
The court heard Tshuma realised that her husband was going to flay her to death if she did not confess, so she admitted cheating on her husband.Tsholotsho
After the confession, Sibanda reportedly stopped beating her and ordered her to dress.
He then took her to her aunt and narrated the whole story, telling her he no longer wan
ted her as his wife because she was unfaithful.
On the following day, Tshuma made a police report leading to Sibanda's arrest
