Madzibaba fined for bedding congregant's wife

A Johane Masowe Echishanu prophet was charged four beasts and three goats after he was allegedly caught red-handed with a congregant's wife in the congregant's matrimonial bedroom.

The incident that has left Marimirofa villagers under Chief Nemangwe in Gokwe tongue tied occurred last Friday when Ezek Moyo allegedly found his wife Susan Chikwari in bed with Madzibaba Edson Mamvura around 11 pm.

A villager in Marimirofa said on the day in question, Moyo left his homestead to watch a football match at a nearby bottle store.

While the husband was away, Chikwari is said to have taken advantage of the situation and called Mamvura for a romp.

"Moyo left his home around 7 pm to watch a football match. His wife then called her lover for a quick romp which did not end well as the two were caught in the act by Moyo.

"This has left many people shocked because Mamvura is a well known prophet in the area and he commands a huge following. For him to be caught red-handed with someone's wife, a church mate for that matter is very shocking," said a villager who requested anonymity.

It is understood that when Moyo was entering the house he found Mamvura on the bed with  his wife while his clothes were scattered all over the room.

Mamvura quickly jumped off from the bed and hid behind the door while Chikwari remained on the bed.

A fist fight ensued between the two however, Mamvura managed to escape.

Chief Nemangwe confirmed the incident and said when the trio was summoned before his court hundreds thronged his chambers as Mamvura is a public figure.

"I dealt with a matter of adultery involving Ezek Moyo, Edson Mamvura and Susan Chikwari where Mamvura who is a prophet of the Johane Masowe Echishanu sect was caught in bed with Moyo's wife Susan Chikwari. Moyo is also a member of the Johane Masowe sect."

Chief Nemangwe said he has since ordered Mamvura to pay four beasts and three goats to Moyo for the offence.
