Grace Mugabe's ally to stand for Zanu-PF in Epworth

One of the top organizers of First Lady Grace Mugabe's recent 50th birthday celebrations Zaler Makari will represent Zanu-PF in the Epworth parliamentary by-election, sparking speculation she is using close associates to build a power base.
A group of previously unknown people including Makari ran advertisements in the State media soliciting foe donation for the First Lady's party.
Four candidates have successfully filed nomination papers at Rotten Row Court for the Epworth Constituency parliamentary by-election set for September 19.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Amos Midzi in a suspected case of suicide in June.
The four are Zalerah Hazvineyi Makari (Zanu-PF), Tsikirai Muchena (Transform Zimbabwe), Genacious Muzambi (Zapu) and Daniel Foya (independent).
