MDC-T acting Bulawayo chairperson, Dorcas Sibanda, was reportedly assaulted by a patron at her bottle store in Ntabazinduna on Monday.
Witnesses said Sibanda held on to the unidentified patron's $20 note while looking for change.
They said when the man asked for his money, a misunderstanding arose.
Sibanda is said to have claimed she had given the man his change and he would have none of it.
"He was so angry that he beat her up. By the time other drinkers intervened, he had landed a couple of blows. Dorcas made a report at Ntabazinduna Police Station and the man was arrested," said a witness.
Sibanda could not be reached for comment.
