ZANU-PF spin doctor Professor Jonathan Moyo convinced former MDC Senator Believe Gaule to rejoin the party and not contest under Welshman Ncube led party in the 2013 elections.
Gaule was initially put on the MDC Senate basket under the proportional representation format but opted out saying he was taking a break from politics.
He was at the weekend readmitted into Zanu-PF after his suspension in 2004 for hosting now Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa in what became popularly known as the Tsholotsho declaration.
Gaule was district coordinating committee for Tsholotsho at the time.
"Gaule was convinced by Jonathan Moyo to rejoin Zanu-PF by Jonathan Moyo. He then wrote the party seeking readmission last December," said a Zanu-PF mole.
"You will remember that the Tsholotsho project was run by Gaule and Moyo so they have been long time allies. Moyo warned Gaule that the Welshman Ncube MDC would perform badly in the 2013 elections that's why he did not take part."
