'Coffin' delivered to ex-MDC-T councillor's home by Zanu-PF fans

About 15 Zanu-PF supporters last Saturday delivered a mock coffin to former Ward 11 MDC-T councillor Albert Chirau's home in Mkoba 4, Gweru, Newsday reported.

The Zanu-PF supporters, who were singing and dancing while denouncing the MDC-T, left the coffin made from cardboard boxes at Chirau's gate.

Chirau was not at home when the incident happened, but his wife come face to face with the ruling party supporters.

The coffin was delivered soon after results of the Ward 11 by-election were announced. Zanu-PF's Silas Furo won the poll after garnering 376 votes against two independent candidates, Mulamuli Muguti and Samson Tavengahama, who got 11 and 184 votes respectively.
