Doctors have come to the aid of the 29-year-old Gokwe woman who spent two years believing she was pregnant with a set of twins.
Dr Fabian Mashingaidze and his team operated Tendai Sibanda of Munyanyiri village in Gokwe and removed a cyst weighing close to 5 kgs.
Although she is recovering well, Sibanda is now homeless as her husband, George Marozva, has dumped her.
Her mother, Gogo Sibanda took the matter to Chief Njelele's court and it was ruled that Marozva had to pay her a cow.
Chief Njelele is now making efforts to ensure the woman finds a place to stay.
Sibanda, who had a swollen stomach, was told by nurses that she was pregnant with a set of twins but she spent almost two years in that condition.
Her sad circumstances were highlighted by the ZBC News, leading Gweru Provincial Hospital to offer her an operation free of charge.
