Highlanders goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda has reportedly sustained an injury and will not be available for the team's upcoming Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum on Sunday.

This was confirmed by coach Kelvin Kaindu on Thursday morning during a media briefing about preparations for the highly anticipated match.

Kaindu said Sibanda was injured a few days ago, and as a result, he has not been part of the team's training sessions.

"He is injured and will not be available on Sunday. He hasn't been training with the team," said Kaindu.

The coach also revealed that there are seven players currently nursing injuries from training sessions, but he remains hopeful they will recover before the weekend.

Meanwhile, defender Andrew Mbeba has returned to the squad. Kaindu said Mbeba was part of his team during the 2-0 win over Yadah Stars at Heart Stadium.

Mbeba's return is expected to boost the team's defense, especially as they face a side that has consistently posed a strong challenge when visiting Barbourfields Stadium.
