Zapu picks up the pieces in Gwanda South

The circus that started soon after Provincial Affairs minister Abednico Ncube was reinstated as ZANU PF candidate following his previous defeat by media personality Ompile Marupi has become a blessing for ZAPU.
The ruling party structures in Gwanda South have vowed to vote for a ZAPU candidate in the forthcoming poll as protest to candidate imposition by what they called a Harare based cabal.
Marupi won a primary election against Ncube. Following the defeat, Ncube is alleged to have collapsed only to recover in hospital days later.
However, Marupi, who has lately been the more popular between the two was later to be disqualified after it was alleged that he did not meet the previously set criteria where one has to be at least five years long in the party.
This did not go down well with ZANU PF members in the constituency, who accuse Ncube of abuse and arrogance among other things. They also say Ncube does not come from Gwanda South, but was instead imposed by Mugabe from Gwanda North.
ZAPU have welcomed the development and have vowed to work with the ZANU PF structures, saying they are always welcome back home. They congratulated the people of Gwanda South for finally seeing the light.
