The heroes day is historic day where the nation commemorates those who perished while fighting against the evil and inhuman settler regime.
Established at independence in 1980, this special day saves to remind us that our independence and freedom was not handed to us on a silver platter by a kind and benevolence oppressor, it took the selfless sacrifice of gallant sons and daughters of the soil who left their homes, schools, families and carrier to face the bullets and bombs off a ruthless enemy to give us the freedom we enjoy today. Lest we not forget thousands upon thousands of people who played a crucial role of supporting the freedom fighters.
Without their support the war of liberation could not have been won. It is thus critical for each and every one of us to honour the sacrifice of our brave heroes and heroines who perished during the liberation struggle and those heroes who are still alive. We must work to together in the interest of the nation at any given time.
