Deputy Minister of Health offside

4 hrs ago | Views
Zimbabwe's Deputy Minister of Health Sleiman Timios Kwidini, a former nurse, told Parliament recently that Zimbabwean people utilising public hospitals are extremely satisfied with the treatment they receive. This is unquestionably an assault on our humanity. He is actually a guard and does not qualify to take such a position.

He is extremely offside and needs to be reminded that propaganda is not a cure for growing this nation. Instead, he was expected to communicate with concerned members and resolve the matter. The health industry is in limbo and has been ignored for a very long time. This is not an area to play with, but we urge every progressive Zimbabwean to join hands and put all of this trash to rest.

This government continues to fling around people's health issues, and when they become sick, they fly out of the country for better treatment. After one of their own ministers of youth complained about poor medical facilities, Zimbabwe's minister of finance, Dr Mthuli Ncube, and his health ministry counterpart, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, went to the government-run medicines warehouse at NatPharm to show off Zimbabwe's medicines.

Surprisingly, the drugs were not where they were supposed to be, and the majority of the drugs were donated by foreign governments and organisations.

We want government authorities to speak the truth so that the country can move ahead. People are dying early, yet we continue to gamble with their lives.

Blaming social media will not produce positive results. We must learn to cope with time. There was no way that story could have made it through the government media outlet.

Interestingly, the administration have now surrendered to pressure from social media, which they blame for having no power.

The Zimbabwean health industry needs a total makeover, and those in power must pick administrators who are not serial bootlickers but actual individuals with the necessary qualifications.

Zimbabwe Cabinet Ministers should conduct a tour of public referral hospitals throughout the nation in full view of local and foreign media agencies. An official should not lie about healthcare difficulties since it depletes and destroys the morale of the entire country.

We need to seriously look into such health issues and not this hanky-panky business of politicking. A healthy nation has the capacity to build a strong nation.
