ZUPA: not even half a year ago you were praise singing Dr. Grace Mugabe, today you are praise singing Prof. Jonathan Moyo, what'

It was towards the Zanu PF congress in December 2014 when we saw several letters from ZUPA telling us the goodness of "Amai" Grace Mugabe and that she should be supported. We saw another article again telling us that the doctoral qualifications of "Amai" Grace Mugabe are valid and she acquired the degree genuinely through hard work. It was the pain that the Zupa presidium goes through to justify deceit that disturbs the minds of many that such well educated young men and women could sink so low. Are you sure you are comfortable with "Amai" Grace who came to Mathebeleland and uttered disturbing words some of which are just unprintable. Her husband who calls Kalanga people uneducated and no remorse or national apology, is ZUPA telling us to still continue to worship the "First Family?" How much was it, how much did you get, cash or kind, just by bootlicking "Amai" Grace?

Can you sincerely tell us, what our young girls and women learn and get from a woman like "Amai" Grace? Mrs. Grace Mugabe is a woman who caused misery to several hundreds of people in Manzoe area, the people turned squatters and landless in Zimbabwe. "Amai" Mrs. Grace Mugabe looted state coffers and often goes overseers for shopping and treatment of undisclosed illnesses together with her hubby. Why can't she get the treatment at home and show by example that our institutions are also worth it? Aha! None of our hospitals are good enough for the two of them hubby and wife! If she was treated at home, our health institutions will be better than they are now. They would know the misery state of our hospitals.
She looted money to buy a flat for her daughter in Hong Kong, the government treasury has kissed that money goodbye as the "clever Chinese" swindled them daylight: we are talking about 6 to 8 million US dollars altogether. That money would have turned the lives of many people for the better. Is that not eternalizing foreign currency to foreign countries? In Zimbabwe all people are equal before the law. (but there are some who are more equal than the other)

Are we to emulate the shopaholic tendencies, overdressing and make-up of "Amai" Grace, should we take that as advancement and empowerment to our daughters? Are we to emulate the billion dollars in foreign banks that they stole through the diamonds sales? Those billions will never come to Zimbabwe again it's all lost money and revenues from the country. If any simple person sent money abroad, he/she will be told they have externalized funds to foreign banks, a criminal case on its own. What about the many farms she owns, looted from white farmers under the pretext of Indigenisation and land reforms.

Mrs. Grace Mugabe courts envy openly to our growing girls and young women by her spending sprees in the far off lands where our young girls and women ever hope to go. To be told that her daughter is a virgin, what do those qualities mean to a hungry stomach that does not know when the next meal comes from? Should we be envious of her daughter's virginity? ZUPA please tell us! Mrs. Mugabe spends millions of money for a wedding of her daughter in a country smelling with poverty at every corner of the country. Should we still continue to be envious? We are not envious, it's galling to say the least.

Today ZUPA is congratulating Prof. Jonathan Moyo for his landslide victory in Tsholotsho North. What is a landslide; Prof. Moyo got a paltry 19 votes less in the 2013 elections. I would have hoped that Prof. Moyo respected the electorate that voted for him in the 2013, slightly less than half of the people who voted for him. Instead, he suffered a humiliating defeat. He turned down the villagers who approached him for assistance during the floods periods of 2013. A genuine political leader would have taken advantage of that desperation for assistance of voters, and helped them in their dire needs after those serious floods in the area. Is he saying, only if you vote for me in a landslide can you get government assistance.

This time round, I followed Prof. Jonathan Moyo campaigning in Tsholotsho throughout. There was no mention of the Khoi-San population in the area whose lives have transformed and are challenged by the way of life they are now forced to live.

Prof. Moyo would have won those elections anywhere; there were no challenging parties who competed with him in that electorate. What made Prof. Moyo bring VP Mnangagwa to Tsholotsho, an area once a hotbed of Gugurahundi atrocities? He, time and again made us know how his family suffered during those dark days, he lost his father and grandfather.  Has he ever thought for once how those residents feel and how they grieve inside them regarding those atrocities? There still today no government apology regarding this. During his term as Independent MP, it is surprising that he never brought Gugurahundi atrocities into a parliament for a debate. Has Prof. Moyo ever thought how humiliating and degrading to see one of the architectures of genocide standing right in front of them, smiling at them, having killed thousands of their like and he got away with it scot-free? Zupa, the organisation of non-workers never thought beyond this because I suppose it is eating time. Gugurahundi is now a thing of the past! Is that so?

I will never be-little what the Professor's input in the region made, it would be unfair to him. He indeed, during his time as MP, saw the construction of a GMB, made electricity available in Tsholotsho Growth Point, irrigations programs were set up, most schools improved their grades and acquired A-Level status, there are boreholes in some parts of his constituency. What is worrying most about the Professor is his inconsistencies. His double messages are confusing and easily construed as double dipping. You cannot talk about being victim of Genocide at the same time supping with Mnangagwa to the point of inviting him to the crime places of genocide he perpetrated in the 1980s, one of the places is Tsholotsho. That is gross insensitivity on your part, Prof.

Prof. Moyo, to take Mnangagwa to Tsholotsho was a deep insult we have to endure. To give Mnangagwa BOSSO-Shirt number 9 is equally an insult to the people of Bulawayo. Assist us in the region Prof. without me producing the Zanu party card. Leadership means assisting everyone irrespective of his/her political affiliation. I will carefully see how the Khoi –San population will gain from your leadership in the area, Prof. Moyo. The Khoi-San population is a very small population of more than 2000 habitats in Tsholotsho near extinction because their way of lives have been rudely transformed into farming life, contrary to their way of living, living by hunting. I doubt even if any of them has a Zanu PF party card, so it means they will starve to death.

It is this fear of the Prof. Moyo imbedded in most academic scholars from Mathebeleland. If you write in the press about Jono you will be crushed! You cannot win an argument with Jono. He should be feared by the whole of Mathebeleland for his obvious intellect. The man no doubt is intelligent and eloquent when he speaks. I am not afraid of a person who was given a talent by God, it is his talent. My question, the Zim-Assets Prof. Jonathan Moyo wrote as a manifesto for Zanu is not selling. The Professor is a senior minister in Zanu PF, Zim-Assets should have been implemented successfully long back. There should be signs that bright heads, the likes of Professor should resuscitate the economy and bring jobs and the people profit from the Zima-Assets it is promising the electorate.

Why is our economy still in the deep-end, two years after the land slide victory of Zanu PF in the 2013 elections and Zim-Assets as the driver of the economy? What will make Tsholotsho better economically, Prof. as newly elected MP with a landslide victory in his pocket in the region, if the entire country is economically in stagnation? Where will the money come from just to develop Tsholotsho? I will be happy if the Prof. developed Tsholotsho, I mean this from the bottom of the heart. I will acknowledge whatever developments he makes in the region. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, it is not the argument I want to cash in with Prof. Moyo. I am just a concerned person whose roots are in Tsholotsho, in the Khoi-San peoples nearing extinction!

ZUPA should not give us the impression that it is an association of opportunists. If ZUPA quantifiably represents the 95% of the population that is not working, it should then present itself to the nation of Zimbabwe with much better credentials than to be told that "Amai" Grace in the woman to emulate from. It is too insulting to a Zimbabwean woman and not worth it, and that Zim-Assets can bring change to Zimbabwe, is a pie in the sky.
