Zimbabwean karatekas win six gold medals in SA

A team of Zimbabwean karatekas won six gold medals at the annual and 5th Matlosana Club Shinkyokushin karate tournament in Kerksdorp South Africa on Saturday.
The Zimbabwe full contact karate team proved a strong force to reckon with in South Africa where they scooped six medals.
The team, composed of both seasoned and veteran karatekas, travelled by road to Klerksdorp.
Tungamirai Madzimbamuto and Romeo Gora sailed through to the semi-finals of the men's under 80kg division and eventually the former was crowned champion, while Gora finished fourth.
Shelvin Mugoni scooped bronze, Precious Kazembe was mistakenly registered in both categories and won medals in both.
Zimbabwe was invited to the 5th Matlosana Club tournament and have been participating since its inception in 2012.
Others who acquitted themselves well include Tinotenda Mudhokwani, Shelton Murape, Cosmas Banda, Trevor Jowo and Shadreck Chingombe.
