Bulawayo Bomber promises to hospitalise van Heerden

BULAWAYO-born South Africa-based cage fighter Elvis Moyo and Extreme Fighting Championship Africa (EFC) heavyweight champion Danie van Heerden are engaged in a fiery war of words, with the former promising to hospitalise the latter in their October fight.
The two heavyweight fighters will battle it out in a bill dubbed "The biggest stand-up battle in EFC history" on October 15 at Sun City in Rustenburg, South Africa.
Van Heerden was the first to poke Moyo following the latter's win against Japanese's mixed martial arts veteran Kiyoshi Tamura in Tokyo last week. "Hey Elvis Bomber Moyo, check this is one thing (heavyweight belt) you won't get from me nor take but you can try I welcome you. I'm not made in Japan," said van Heerden, holding on to his belt.
Moyo knocked out Tamura in the fourth round last Saturday in Tokyo having shrugged off poor travelling plans that saw him arrive in Japan a day before the fight, leaving the Zimbabwean with little time to acclimatise.
Moyo, whose ring name is "The Bulawayo Bomber", then posted the video of his fight against Tamura which van Heerden criticised, saying his October opponent wasted time, adding that "the clip was only the 4th round of just standing around and doing nothing."
In his response, the Bulawayo Bomber, who resumes training for the title fight this morning, promised to crush van Heerden. "As he (van Heerden) is taken to hospital, I will be polishing my belt. EFC 54, Superbets, you'll love this. No love lost after broken jaws I will at least bring you juice and a straw," Moyo responded.
The exchange of words could spice up the build up to the match and if the two fighters walk the talk, then EFC enthusiasts should brace for an intriguing fight. Moyo has six EFC career wins, with the last recorded in June when he knocked out Congolese Ricky Misholas in the second round at Sun City.
Van Heerden watched the fight.
Moyo's other victories in EFC Africa were against Sors "Guru" Grobbelaar in his debut cage fight in March 2014, Wilhelm "Tiny" Strauss in August and Didier-Kilola in November in the same year. He also beat Lance Cerenio last year in February. He also beat Mbuyi.
The Bulawayo Bomber lost twice in 2014 to Brendon Groenwald in May and Andrew Van Zyl in July. His third loss was last year in June when he was knocked out by Poland's Tomasz "Kredka" Kowalkowski in just 37 seconds.
Moyo is confident of adding van Heerden to his casualty list.
"I've waited for long to fight for a title and this is an opportunity that I won't waste as I want that belt. I'm resuming training on Monday and the thought of landing the heavyweight title is what is motivating me," said Moyo.
