Zimbabwe's leading Internet Service Provider, which is part of Econet's Liquid Telecom Group today introduced unlimited internet into the Zimbabwean market. Unlimited broadband provides businesses with an always-on Internet connection without any traffic limitations

In a statement today, ZOL wrote: "We are very excited to announce a major change in the way we sell Internet at ZOL. Effective immediately all Broadband packages will no longer incur additional usage charges. This means you have received your last extra usage bill from us!

"For nearly 20 years, ZOL has been leading the Zimbabwean Internet market, constantly innovating and driving the market to better quality Internet at affordable prices.  We figured that charging for additional usage or forcing customers into setting caps is a very archaic method and it is time to move on."

These unlimited options apply to home and business broadband and do not apply to VSAT and ZOLspot service.

ZOL was founded in 1994 and has grown into one of the largest ISPs in Zimbabwe.

Within 18 months of dollarization it was able triple its size. ZOL sells nearly 700 mbps of Internet bandwidth a month, hosts over 3,000 domain names, runs 55 servers in 3 continents, employs 82 staff in 4 offices nationwide and its Network Operations Centre and support desk is open 24/7/365. ZOL leverages its advanced solutions capabilities and knowledge to deliver managed communication solutions to companies ranging from multi-national enterprises to home users.

ZOL offer Broadand, Wi-Max, UHF, fibre, copper, VPN services, secure email and webhosting, collocation and PBX management. ZOL also operates over 100 ZOLspots (Wi-Fi hotspots) covering every major hotel, coffeeshop and shopping centre. The company distributes ZOLspot airtime scratch cards at most of these ZOLspots, as well as via its distribution partners, which include a major supermarket as well as hotel chain.
